Field Schools for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities
Persons with disabilities, particularly in Upper Egypt governorates, face social and economic isolation due to limited societal awareness of their rights and potential, in addition to constrained household financial resources.
As a result, rehabilitation and development of children with disabilities often rank low among family spending priorities.
This reality necessitates a developmental intervention that enhances productive capacities and supports economic independence.
Through the project “Field Schools for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities”, Ataa Fund works to empower youth with mild intellectual disabilities in Minya Governorate, transforming them from passive recipients of support into productive contributors to the local economy through micro-agricultural enterprises.
The project establishes field school classrooms that simplify agricultural skills and provide practical training on managing small enterprises, enabling beneficiaries to launch and develop micro-projects that strengthen their productive capacities and promote social inclusion.
