Forssa Tamken Project

 

Many persons with disabilities face real challenges in accessing suitable employment opportunities due to discriminatory practices and weak inclusion culture within work environments.

The “Forssa Tamken Project” aims to empower youth with mild forms of disabilities through an integrated model that combines vocational training, psychological and social support, labor market readiness, and building effective partnerships with private sector employers to ensure real and sustainable employment opportunities.

Target Group

Youth with disabilities, including:

  • Mild intellectual disabilities
  • Mild physical disabilities
  • Hearing disabilities (deaf and hard of hearing)
  • Visual impairments (low vision)

Achieved Impact

A total of 295 persons with disabilities benefited from the project services, including:

  • 73 individuals secured employment and a stable income.
  • 77 individuals with intellectual disabilities received social integration training.
  • 155 individuals with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities received life skills training.
  • 120 individuals completed on-the-job practical training within workplaces.
  • 16 individuals received psychological support and behavioral modification sessions.
