Welcoming and Inclusive Schools

Many children with disabilities continue to face barriers that prevent them from accessing quality education due to limited accessibility, insufficient assistive technology, and a lack of teacher preparedness for inclusive education.

Through the Welcoming and Inclusive Schools project, Ataa Fund is developing a sustainable model for inclusive public schools by creating accessible learning environments, providing assistive technologies, and strengthening the capacity of teachers and students to ensure meaningful and lasting educational inclusion.

Project Impact

148 students with disabilities have directly benefited from inclusive education services.
School attendance increased from 28% in the first year to 84% in the second year.
50% of students with visual impairments achieved more than 75% improvement in Braille and assistive reading and writing skills.
55% of students with intellectual disabilities achieved more than 60% improvement in academic skills.

Sustainable Impact

The project's impact goes beyond the 148 students who directly benefited. By strengthening schools and building the capacity of educators, the project creates inclusive learning environments that will continue to provide quality education for future generations of children with disabilities.
